Preserve original data and unit identification
Keep the original controller, label photographs and any files from previous programming. A proposed donor needs checking against the actual replacement task. We establish which data can be recovered and whether the supported route involves direct transfer or further programming.
Describe the driving and tuning brief
State the exact petrol or diesel specification, gearbox, mileage, service condition and existing software. For a modified vehicle, list the hardware. The available calibration and practical appointment route are discussed for that application.
