WHICH WORK ARE YOU QUOTING?

Choose the right enquiry.

Cloning, repair, recovery and tuning solve different problems. Compare what each service needs and what it covers.

Browse the service scopes below.

VEHICLE IDENTITY

ECU cloning

Purpose
Preserve the required original data when a compatible engine ECU is replaced.
What to send
Original and donor labels, failure history, available original data and the installer’s diagnostic report.
What it does not cover
Cloning does not establish that a donor is serviceable or repair the fault that damaged the original.
Vehicle-side requirements
Some accepted data-transfer work can be completed on removed units. Final starting, configuration and operating checks remain on the vehicle.
What the quote considers
Compatibility assessment, supported data access, transfer, agreed verification and any further installation requirements.
FAULT-LED ASSESSMENT

ECU repair & assessment

Purpose
Investigate a suspected internal controller fault and assess an appropriate repair or recovery route.
What to send
Full diagnostic findings, controller label, supply and wiring tests, damage history and previous repairs.
What it does not cover
Repair assessment is not a guarantee that an ECU is at fault or that all damage is repairable.
Vehicle-side requirements
Vehicle-side tests may be needed before a removed ECU provides a useful assessment.
What the quote considers
Agreed assessment scope, feasible repair or recovery work and any further parts or vehicle tests.
TRANSMISSION CONTROL

TCU & mechatronic cloning

Purpose
Transfer supported original transmission-control data into a suitable replacement or assess an electronic fault.
What to send
Exact gearbox identity, both controller labels, complete scan and the transmission specialist’s findings.
What it does not cover
Data transfer does not repair worn clutches, hydraulic pressure loss or an unsuitable donor gearbox.
Vehicle-side requirements
Removed-unit work may be accepted; transmission-specific commissioning still takes place after installation.
What the quote considers
Controller compatibility, supported data work, accepted parts, electronic checks and the installer handover.
ENGINE CALIBRATION

Performance & ECO tuning

Purpose
Adjust supported engine calibration for the vehicle specification, condition and agreed driving goal.
What to send
Registration, engine, gearbox, mileage, modifications, fuel, service history and existing software.
What it does not cover
Calibration does not repair mechanical faults or provide a universal power or economy outcome.
Vehicle-side requirements
Suitability checks and verification can require the vehicle. Certain access work needs removal or workshop arrangements.
What the quote considers
Identification, required access, intended calibration, agreed checks and applicable appointment or travel arrangements.
ECU + TCU INTEGRATION

Gearbox tuning

Purpose
Change supported transmission-calibration behaviour on a suitable gearbox.
What to send
Exact TCU and gearbox, current engine software, service history, scan and desired shift behaviour.
What it does not cover
A gearbox map cannot restore worn components or cure hydraulic and electrical failures.
Vehicle-side requirements
Application-specific checks and verification are needed; access arrangements vary by controller.
What the quote considers
Supported calibration features, relationship to engine output, access and agreed verification.
SPECIALIST ACCESS

ECU unlocking & recovery

Purpose
Assess supported controller access or restore suitable software after an interrupted or incorrect operation.
What to send
Exact identification, intended operation, original files, attempted writes, logs and a timeline.
What it does not cover
Unlocking does not automatically include cloning; recovery depends on usable data and controller condition.
Vehicle-side requirements
The supported OBD, bench or boot route sets the arrangement. Vehicle-side checks may still be required.
What the quote considers
Required access or recovery scope, available files, proposed checks and any remaining software or vehicle work.
DIAGNOSTICS FIRST

Diagnostics & fault solutions

Purpose
Use symptoms, reports and appropriate tests to decide what repair or programming work is justified.
What to send
Complete scan, exact symptoms, conditions, recent repairs, vehicle specification and postcode.
What it does not cover
A warning description or one code is not a complete diagnosis; investigation may identify work outside the controller.
Vehicle-side requirements
Many electrical, engine and transmission tests require the vehicle to be present.
What the quote considers
Agreed investigation time and arrangement, available evidence and any further work identified.

Two services may be part of one repair.

For example, an accepted recovery assessment may establish usable original data before a compatible clone can be considered. Ask the team to scope the sequence rather than choosing from a name alone.
