Engine and gearbox.
Working together.
Transmission calibration for supported DSG, ZF and automatic gearboxes, matched to engine output, vehicle condition and the way you drive.
Identify the route before the repair.
Review gearbox condition
Service history, fault codes and current behaviour matter. Slip, judder or hydraulic problems should be investigated before calibration.
Match the engine strategy
We consider the engine’s torque delivery and the gearbox application together. Supported changes may include shift schedules, torque handling and response.
Verify the supported changes
Features depend on the TCU, software and available protocol. We agree the intended behaviour and check the result within the scope of the appointment.
Is this the right service?
- Tuned engine needing matching transmission strategy
- Shift behaviour that does not suit intended use
- Supported DSG or ZF calibration request
- Combined engine and gearbox tuning enquiry
Make the first message useful.
- Vehicle and exact transmission type
- Gearbox servicing and fault history
- Current engine calibration and modifications
- The shift behaviour you want to change
Know what the job covers.
A gearbox map cannot restore worn clutches or repair a mechanical fault. Higher torque limits and other features are only considered where appropriate for the particular transmission.
What owners ask.
Can you tune my DSG or ZF gearbox?
Send your registration and gearbox details. Support varies by controller and software version, even within the same transmission family.
Can engine and gearbox tuning be combined?
Yes, where both controllers are supported and the vehicle is suitable. Ask for a combined quote so the work can be scoped together.
Is this the same as TCU cloning?
No. Tuning adjusts an existing controller’s calibration. Cloning transfers supported identity and software data for a replacement controller.

Preparation, hardware and ongoing support.
Pre-remap vehicle checks
Prepare for remapping with servicing, fault history, fuel, hardware and transmission details. Plan diagnosis first where warnings or running faults remain.

Explain the behaviour you want to change
Describe the shift, mode or driving situation rather than requesting every possible feature. The available changes depend on the controller and software. Tell us about existing engine calibration, hardware and use so the engine and transmission work can be scoped together. A higher torque limit is not automatically appropriate for every application.
Separate shift preferences from fault symptoms
Delayed selection, slip, judder, pressure faults and gearbox warnings should be disclosed before tuning. They may need diagnosis or repair rather than a different calibration. Provide servicing and transmission-specialist findings where relevant. Changes to shift strategy should not be used to mask a physical problem.
Ask which changes and checks are included
The accepted quote identifies the supported features and intended behaviour for the exact TCU. Some applications need a different access route from the engine ECU. If you are replacing the gearbox or controller, discuss that job separately: replacement-data transfer, coding and commissioning are distinct from tuning an existing suitable unit.
