Build one complete specification
List the actual engine, turbo, intake, charge-air cooling, fuelling and exhaust configuration. Identify the parts and retained standard components, with supplier or build information where useful. A collection of brand names or a forum stage description leaves important differences hidden. The quotation needs the installation the technician will actually encounter.
Include gearbox, drivetrain condition and existing engine or transmission software. State whether the car has run correctly since the hardware was fitted. Applicable road-use, emissions and safety requirements belong in the project brief alongside the requested driving result.
Separate installation from calibration
Fitting hardware and calibrating supported controller data are different operations. The installer should confirm the relevant mechanical, supply, leak and control-system checks for the application. Send commissioning findings and a full scan, including faults that remain after the parts were fitted.
A calibration cannot establish that a turbo is correctly installed, a connected sensor is suitable or the transmission is healthy. If the current running software is unknown, preserve the identification and file history. We discuss the starting condition and any diagnostic work before agreeing a performance scope.
Set the goal around use, fuel and the complete system
Tell us whether the priority is progressive daily torque, sustained-use consistency or a more involved hardware project. Include the fuel grade available to you regularly and expected load. Peak output should be considered alongside delivery, supporting systems and the condition of the engine and gearbox.
A larger turbo or intercooler does not guarantee one universal gain. Estimates must match the exact configuration and measurement basis. Ask what checks, logs or measurements are proposed for the accepted work, and keep a catalogue claim separate from a result on your finished vehicle.
Agree project feasibility and the appointment scope
Exact ECU / TCU identity, available access and the requested operation determine support. A modified project can require a different scope and appointment route from a standard-hardware Stage 1 job. Workshop time, additional assessment, measurements and any revision arrangements should be clear before booking.
Send registration, postcode, the complete part list, current software and installer evidence to Precision Remaps UK through Northern Calibration. The tuning planner can pre-fill a hardware-focused enquiry. The team confirms what can be accepted, which further information is needed and the quote for the agreed work.
