Consider the use beyond one peak result
A car used for short daily journeys, a van carrying a regular load and a modified vehicle operating under sustained demand present different cooling briefs. Describe the use and any change in performance as temperatures rise. A single strong measurement cannot describe every operating condition.
Intercoolers remove heat from compressed intake air. Their performance depends on the complete installation and conditions, not just the size of the core. Discuss the fitted parts, airflow, pipework and vehicle health before assuming an upgrade or a calibration change is the required answer.
Keep the temperature evidence comparable
If logs or measured results are available, provide intake-air readings with the recording conditions, sensor description and other relevant data. Ambient conditions, starting temperature and time between measurements can affect the comparison. Label what was observed and what is only an estimate.
A claim from a different engine, intercooler layout or test setup is context rather than a promised result for your car. The useful discussion is whether the actual installation suits the agreed use and calibration. There is no universal temperature threshold in this enquiry guide.
Separate cooling capacity from an installation fault
A damaged charge-air connection, poor fitment or unsuitable component can produce a complaint that is not solved by a more aggressive map. Share the installer’s checks for leaks and the exact parts fitted. Record whether the behaviour existed before the hardware or software change.
An upgraded intercooler does not establish the condition of the turbo, fuelling, engine or transmission. Nor does it automatically define a tuning stage. Ask whether the existing cooling hardware is appropriate for the proposed goal and what further checks belong in the accepted project scope.
Give the tuner a useful hardware brief
Include the engine code where known, turbo specification, intercooler part identification, fuel, current map and gearbox. Explain whether the priority is repeatability, daily response or a larger hardware project. Supporting upgrades should be chosen around the exact application and intended use.
Send the registration, postcode, part list and existing evidence to Precision Remaps UK through Northern Calibration. The team can discuss supported calibration and the checks required before booking. If the vehicle loses performance or shows warnings when hot, lead with that symptom so diagnosis is considered first.

Questions about this enquiry
Does a larger intercooler automatically mean a higher tuning stage?
No. The whole hardware configuration, fuel, condition and goal determine the calibration discussion.
Can you promise the same gain as an intercooler test from another car?
No. Results depend on the actual installation and measurement conditions. Share comparable evidence for your vehicle.
