Selected controllers have a closed-unit bench route

Magicmotorsport documents bench access without opening the ECU for selected BMW and MINI Bosch controllers, including MD1CP032, MD1CS001, MG1CS024, MG1CS049 and MG1CS201. The published protocol includes internal flash, EEPROM and backup operations.

This is application-specific support. The controller reference and the work requested need checking together before the method is agreed.

Describe the job before arranging removal

An enquiry for a performance calibration is different from an enquiry after a failed write or a donor replacement. Describe the result you need first: tuning, recovery, access assessment or a replacement-data route.

Send the registration, engine, model year and controller label or diagnostic identification. Include the current software history and any supplier advice. The team can then explain what further information is needed, rather than asking you to remove the unit on the strength of a general family name.

Keep the original data with the job

For recovery or replacement work, retain the original unit, files and tool logs. Tell us which unit each file came from and the sequence of previous attempts. A folder of clearly identified files is more useful than a single file with an uncertain history.

If you already have a donor, send both labels before dispatch. The enquiry needs to establish the proposed transfer and any refitting requirements, rather than treating access support alone as a confirmed replacement solution.

Plan postal, workshop or mobile arrangements

Owners and garages across the Midlands, northern England and Scotland can ask about the practical route from their postcode. Wait for acceptance and packing instructions before sending any controller.

Northern Calibration enquiries are handled by Precision Remaps UK. Share the vehicle details and your goal to check the method, price and availability. Include who will remove and refit the ECU if another garage is involved.
