Updates expand routes on selected controllers
The Flex update archive shows several recent protected-controller additions, including Korhex items for Stellantis Bosch MD1CS003, Bosch MG1CS032, Mercedes MDG1 and SPC58N applications. That is relevant for recovery and unlocking enquiries because the available method can change over time.
It does not mean every MD1, MG1 or SPC58N controller can be recovered the same way. The ECU label, processor, software identification and requested operation still decide the route.
A failed write needs the full story
For an interrupted flash, preserve the original read, written file, tool logs, screen photographs and every support message. Record whether the vehicle lost communication, still identifies, cranks, starts or has immobiliser or network faults.
Do not repeatedly try unrelated files because a new protocol exists. Recovery work depends on the controller state and usable data. Blind writes can reduce the evidence and make the job harder to assess.
Unlocking, cloning and calibration are different scopes
A protected-access method may allow a read or write, but that does not automatically confirm a full clone, donor transfer or repair of damaged electronics. Ask for the operation you actually need: tuning, unlock, original-software restoration, failed-write recovery or replacement data.
The quote should name the accepted scope, required files or parts, expected access work and any vehicle-side checks after the controller is returned.
Use a current support check before the journey
For long-distance work across the North West, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland, a current support check can prevent wasted travel. Send the exact controller details first and wait for acceptance before removing or posting the ECU.
Northern Calibration can coordinate the enquiry through Precision Remaps UK with Flex and Korhex capability checked against the exact unit. Include the postcode and who will remove, refit and verify the controller.
