In This Guide
Start with the repair brief
Identify the vehicle, controller and reason for the work. Include the diagnostic findings, relevant supply and wiring checks, repairs already completed and current condition of the vehicle. A complete brief reduces uncertainty about what the module work is intended to achieve.
State whether you need repair assessment, data transfer, recovery or calibration. If the owner has requested additional work, distinguish it from the fault repair. Include your garage name and the technician who can answer technical questions.
Identify every item before packing
Send the original and replacement labels for checking, then wait for acceptance. Mark units OLD / ORIGINAL and NEW / REPLACEMENT. State whether the parcel contains separate electronics or a complete assembly.
Retain photographs of the items, labels and condition. Include the agreed reference, registration, return details and contact number with the parcel. Ask for packing instructions suited to the accepted parts rather than sending an unconfirmed assembly.
Keep the vehicle-side work in the plan
Explain who will refit the controller, address the original cause and carry out any coding, adaptation or final checks. Share the facilities or diagnostic access available to the installer if they affect the proposed route.
The handover should make clear what is being done to the removed module and what remains at the garage. Where findings change the scope, additional work is discussed before proceeding.
Agree a practical return schedule
Give the full return postcode and any workshop scheduling constraints. For northern England, the Highlands or islands, courier transit and workshop work are separate parts of the plan. Availability and charges are confirmed for the accepted job.
Northern Calibration trade enquiries are handled by Precision Remaps UK in Burton upon Trent. Send the complete brief, labels and deadline before arranging dispatch, and keep the tracked delivery reference with the job record.
