Identify the Kefico unit first
SIM2K-510, often searched as SIM2K510, appears on selected Hyundai and Kia diesel applications. Send the entire label and any diagnostic hardware/software report. Similar SIM2K family names must not be treated as interchangeable controllers.

New calibration access does not confirm every operation
The 30 October 2026 Flex release adds OBD and OBD-on-bench calibration routes. CAN-FD writing has an additional adapter requirement. Read the linked release guide for the technical limits and all 25 manufacturer-listed vehicle variants.
We verify current protocol and software coverage before accepting work. A model appearing in the list does not confirm a full backup, recovery from damaged electronics, donor cloning or an assured power increase.
After a failed write or suspected ECU fault
Retain the original ECU and all files. Supply the full scan, programming tool and version, original read, file written, logs and the sequence of events. Include supply, ground and network checks already completed by the garage.
A communication loss can need vehicle-side diagnosis as well as controller assessment. The agreed scope should explain what can be tested, any recovery limitations and who will complete the final vehicle checks.
Before buying or posting a replacement
Photograph original and candidate donor labels separately. State whether the original communicates, is water damaged or has been opened. Cloning feasibility depends on compatible hardware and access to the required original data; calibration access alone does not establish it.
Ask Precision Remaps UK to confirm the scope, quote and required units before dispatch. If another garage is fitting the controller, include its findings and agree any remaining coding, adaptation and refitting responsibilities.
