In This Guide
Describe the symptom in normal use
Record what happens, when it started and whether it occurs cold, hot, under load or in a particular gear. Include warning messages and a complete scan where available. Do not deliberately provoke a slipping drivetrain to gather evidence.
A manual-clutch concern and an automatic pressure or control fault need different investigations. State the exact gearbox, mileage and service history. Avoid treating the word slip as a confirmed diagnosis without appropriate checks.
Keep calibration separate from mechanical repair
A performance map cannot restore worn friction material, fix a fluid problem or repair a hydraulic component. Higher software limits do not establish that the transmission can handle an arbitrary torque figure.
If the symptom existed before tuning, disclose it before requesting further output. If it followed previous programming, share the engine and gearbox software history. The first step should establish the cause and current condition.
Bring the hardware and installation history
Include clutch, flywheel, mechatronic or gearbox replacements, servicing and adaptations already performed. Tell us whether a used unit was installed and which controller data work was done. Replacement compatibility and tuning are separate enquiries.
A symptom after repair should be discussed with the installer as well as the calibration team. Relevant test findings help distinguish installation, hardware and software scope.
Agree the next useful job
The practical next step can be diagnosis, repair or a supported calibration review, depending on findings. Prepare the registration, codes, conditions and software details rather than choosing a gearbox stage as the presumed cure.
Once condition and support are established, the team can discuss appropriate engine and transmission goals. Keep the accepted work and handover instructions together and report unexpected behaviour promptly.

Questions about this enquiry
Can DSG tuning cure worn clutches?
No. Mechanical condition needs diagnosis and repair as appropriate.
Should I test clutch slip with repeated high-load pulls?
Do not deliberately provoke the fault. Record the normal-use symptoms and arrange an appropriate investigation.
