Identify the engine rather than borrowing a turbo figure
Send the registration, exact engine, factory output and controller details if available. A naturally aspirated engine does not use the same boost-based route as a turbocharged engine. A percentage taken from a different model is not a useful promise for your car.
Discuss the actual goal: a particular response concern, supported calibration for the fuel, or matching verified hardware. The worthwhile result depends on the engine and condition. We check access and scope before quoting, and explain where diagnosis or measurement would help the decision.
Describe response and drivability clearly
Say when the behaviour occurs: pulling away, a particular load, a steady-speed condition or a gear change. Explain whether the complaint developed recently. A sticking actuator, ignition fault, air leak or transmission issue belongs in the diagnostic brief before software changes are chosen.
A sharper pedal sensation is not itself evidence of additional engine power. Tell us whether you prefer a progressive daily-driving response or have a specific calibration project. Avoid judging different cars solely by how abruptly they react to the same pedal movement.
List fuel and hardware together
Include the fuel normally available to you and any intake, exhaust, camshaft or engine changes, with part details where possible. A parts list allows a scope discussion; it does not prove that every installation is compatible or that a fixed gain will follow.
For road use, retain the required emissions and safety systems. If previous software is installed, share the programmer and available records. The quote can separate calibration from access, fault investigation or further measurement required by the actual project.
Decide how the result will be assessed
Ask what checks are included and whether an appropriate before-and-after test is needed for your goal. Keep conditions and units consistent when comparing supplied figures. A claimed flywheel estimate and a wheel measurement should not be treated as equivalent results.
Include the postcode, intended use and preferred timing. Accepted work is scoped around your vehicle rather than a catalogue promise. If a software change is unlikely to address the stated fault, the team can explain the diagnostic next step before you commit.
