Send the registration, engine, original output and transmission. A 30d or 35d badge is not a complete description across model generations. The actual engine and controller are used to check the programming route.
Explain the torque delivery you want
Tell us about overtaking, motorway use, towing or other priorities. Include current software and hardware changes. The most useful target considers response and drivetrain condition alongside peak bhp and Nm.
Review the starting condition
Share servicing, mileage, scans and any boost or aftertreatment warnings. A change in performance, smoke or fuel use needs an appropriate diagnosis. A tuning enquiry should not assume every fault is caused by the original calibration.
Bring the gearbox history
Record servicing, previous transmission software and any shift or slip symptoms. For supported ZF applications, the engine and gearbox can be scoped together. A transmission map cannot cure wear or a hydraulic fault.
Confirm the complete quotation
Ask for access, calibration, agreed checks and appointment route to be explained. New software or an unknown previous map can change the starting scope. Include your full postcode and whether a workshop visit is possible.
