Engine ECU compatibility needs a full check
Keep the original ECU and photograph both labels before buying a donor. Part numbers, controller family and hardware matter alongside the transfer method. Tell us whether the fault is no communication, a replacement non-start or a problem after programming.
Plan the DSG or mechatronic handover
For a supported TCU transfer, identify the exact gearbox and original/replacement controller. Label both units clearly. The installer may still need to carry out the appropriate basic settings, adaptation and final checks after refitting.
Make the tuning specification complete
State the engine, transmission, fuel, existing software and all modifications. Engine and gearbox calibration must fit the actual combination. Existing warnings, slip or running faults should be discussed before additional performance is requested.
